AED to GBP Conversion
Guys,
I need to change a reasonable amount of AED to GBP, as usual the HSBC rate is not the sharpest.
Is the Global Currency Exchange Network still recommended and/or does anyone know what's the safest way to move money back to the UK and still get a good FX rate?
Thanks for the advice.
Cheers,
Kohi.

Did it recently with GCEN, but beware HSBC charge you now 40 dits for the transfer to Emirates NBD account of GCEN. Try Thomas Cook, they are good especially for smaller amounts. They give good rates to EK pilots, via EPC. Ask for the manager.

I've used Al Rostamani (which I think used to be Thomas Cook?) for a good combination of ease, speed and rates. I pay them a cheque (they have loads of branches), a 45Dhs fee and about 4 days later the money pops up in the UK.

I have used GCEN and it works fine. If you mention the code EKDR3 (for EK pilots) when registering, they will give you a slightly better rate. Also check out EPC homepage.
GCEN have said they will pay the HSBC fees now that they are changing from HSBC to Barclays/Emirates Bank.
