Ek set to sponsor AC Milan

Emirates airline looks set to expand their football sponsorship portfolio by adding Italian giants and seven-time European champions AC Milan to the glowing list of clubs that fly the airline's banner this Friday.

Agencies quoted Emirates spokesman Boutros Boutros as saying: "Emirates airline will officially sign the contract in Milan on Friday. We are proud to sponsor a club as prestigious as AC Milan."

The airline has reportedly agreed a four-year shirt sponsorship deal with the Serie A club which will come into effect in July, when Milan are through with current shirt sponsors, the Austrian gaming company, bwin. Emirates are already sponsors of English Premiership club Arsenal, German Bundesliga giants Hamburg, Paris Saint-Germain in France and Greek side Olympiakos

The AC Milan players are now discovering that they are required to play every day of the week, mainly night games back to back with extra time, and all match winning bonuses have been taken away. An additional EK cost neutral pay review is also due to be implemented. This will take at least a further 20% off of the players wages but not, apparently, in contravention of the teams original terms and conditions.

The players budget has also been hit resulting in inexperienced players being signed from the lower leagues adding pressure on the experienced players to get results. Players have also reportedly been asked if they know of any other players they could recommend to join the club but most declined the request wishing to keep the friends they have. Others reported that those they asked preferred to stay where they were and that in response to the offer they were told that they shouldn't bother coming round for pasta or their sister again if that is how little they think of them.

The players when asked about their new sponsors simply replied "Ciao" or words to that effect.

Does that mean that if the Milan players get International Caps they`ll be expected to wear them all the time or just in the car on the way to work?

bad timing

Such a bad timing for such an initiative.
Mr. Berlusconi, the midget running the show in Italy and owner of AC Milan, just went to Israel and said he fully support the bombing of Gaza as righteous action. In Iran the Italian embassy got assaulted. Furthermore he is pushing to see Israel in the EU.
And a good Italian friend of mine that got shafted by EK in a outrageous way is about to start his fireworks...wait and see. Keep an eye on the Italian newspapers.

Eh....yeah sure I'll do that, just for you! The rest of the world holds it's collective breath for the downfall of EK because of a disgruntled former employee and the Italian press.
