EK B777-300ER's & NonStop services to SYD/MEL.

Hi Guys n Gals. As a former EKer, please can someone settle a bet.

When did EK get their first B777-300ER & did they ever operate NonStop to SYD/MEL? I thought the inaugural DXB-SYD/MEL's were op'd by the A345's.

Please, please, please can someone help?

Cheers

D-O.

Don't remember when the first 77W arrived, but it's got at least 20k hours on it now...never been a scheduled DCT SYD/BNE/MEL on the 777 until recently, with the starting of the SYD flight.

There have been DCT SYD charters. Direct services origninally started by A345's.

The only direct services in 777-300ERs I'm aware of were during the protests in Thailand. 418/419 that usually went DXB-BKK-SYD was instead direct, but they had to reduce payload to do it.

The 345 did the directs until the A380 took over. For a while, when the A380 was only doing 4 time/week, the other days were covered by a 777-200LR

The recently started 777 direct flight is in a 777-200LR.

First 777-300ER was delivered to Emirates in late March 2005. A6-EBA was HD(2 class configuration) and its inaugural route was DXB-MNL.

DXB-SYD and DXB-MEL have traditionally been operated by A340-500 before being replaced by A380 however as Wiz says above the 773ER was used when BKK was closed last year. The 772LR was used temporarily for direct services to fill in the gaps shortly after the A380 took over the DXB-SYD route. In December 2009 an additional service DXB-SYD was introduced. This flight EK414 is operated on B772LR.

Gulf News, partly correct as it was March 05 that the -300ER A6-EBA arrived. But in fact the inaugural flight was to KHI on the 27th of that month - I know as I flew it........ Think it was used as a one off shake down flight.

what a topic....

This discussion is of the outmost importance and interest.
It just shows the average intellectual level of EK pilots
Mainly ungrown kid that would do anything to play with the big toy probably as a reaction to a small penis or other sort of complexes. My car has 120000 km on it ..anybody interested? Oh... I was the first one to drive it...
In the mean time the category suffers, Emirates is screwing you badly with no vaseline and and nobody has the balls to do anything...if not the few that left. Keep playing like imbecils... and enjoy while they push it deeper. At the end EK management is right and you are just getting what you deserve.
By the way can you tell me who was the first one to take a dump on the firts 777 300 ER?

Iab........

Oy! Numbnuts! It was a question to confirm what I already knew as a former driver on the Airbus fleet. I left in 2005. Judging by the tone of your reply, I'd say either you've been in the desert for too long & obviously have 'issues' or you're in more dire need of a blow job than any man on this planet.

To those who confirmed my query Shukrahn & ma'ah slaamah.

I did 3 directs to Sydney in the Boeing 777-300ER in November 2008 when the Bangkok protests closed the airport.

From a humble SLF, are there any restrictions on the A380 operating DXB/SYD direct?

Also, I see 77Ws in SFO from time to time - is this regular, and are there any restrictions on that operation (indeed, if it is direct?)

Did DXB DCT SYD for a FIFA charter some time ago, and the aeroplanes were flown direct back.

SFO is direct. Haven't done one on the 300ER, so dunno about restrictions.

Airbus 345 no longer going to Australia?

Anyone heard a rumour that EK 340-500s will be pulled from long haul duties to Australia/New Zealand this coming summer?

Heard they will be replaced by 772LR and perhaps A380's this coming July, and placed on short haul premium routes.... whatever that means.

I hope these premium routes lead to Europe and not to India but then Europe is not really short-haul

I would expect them to go on routes where there is strong F Class demand - perhaps one of the daily LHR-DXB; the 345 has a better F class than the 777.

I doubt if they'll mind the drop in overall capacity if they can get better loads up front.

Dear A380 driver, I'm honoured by your post but you're wrong.
Kind regards.

As a matter of fact I was the one having the first blow job on a 777-200LR and on the first SFO flight and I'm presently extremely happily 5000 miles from Iabud....and from most of you.. and the unfortunate majority of sad losers like you.
