unlocked iphone to UAE

Hi everyone,
I will be moving to the UAE in January and was wondering if I should bring an unlocked IPHONE from the US with me to the UAE. somebody told me that the services provider could block services such as internet if the iphone was not purchased thru them (etisalat and DU?)

Yeah ,bring it , loads of people out here got unlocked iphones...........the mobile services here are streets ahead of the fixed liners

saviboy, that shouldn't be a problem at all.
If, at the slightest chance, they block your internet, which if ever would be thru 3G/Edge, you can always use your wifi to surf.

no need to bring one, I bought mine abroad and it works, the story u heard is bull.
anyway if you buy one here you get free internet for a year with it and its factory unlocked. du

Sorry mate... I misread your post and I was fooled by the Paris in the location...... you are actually from les Etats Unis D'Amerique... and in that case...oui...je comprende ...that's a major problem. ah ah ah!!
