The future for Bahrain Air?

Any thoughts on this airline?

On any given day it seems there are 3 or 4 of their aircraft out of action in Bahrain. Their fleet utilization is seemingly deplorable and it is hard to see how they could be in any position other than deep red ink. One rumor has it that, at going rate, they might be shutting down within 6 months. I don't wish it upon any fellow airline employee but the future, from a business aspect, looks grim.

There was some news a while back about a wet-lease to some Nepal-based carrier, but seems to have gone quiet...

The only thing u see in newspapers is that they plan to open "X" new2 destinations next year and order more planes (even though they reduced their AB one recently). There was another article talking about maybe J9 planning to buy another (unnamed) low-cost carrier. I wonder.

I thought they had aircraft tagged for more than 1 wet-lease, so either they are not happening within the agreed timeframe, or not happening at all, who knows?

They also have a percieved reputation of many delays and cancellations to attract decent loads. So unless they offer Ryanair type prices to overcome this perception, whihc is something alien around here.

What Panama Jack says seems to be the case, anyone who passes through BAH will notice their aircraft parked off remote, without service personnel or equipment in the vicinity, very obviously going nowhere.

Seems they either took on more aircraft than they needed or they don't have the crews to operate or possibly the resources to train them. Either way, with parked aircraft, not only are they not generating revenue; they're costing you money.

That said, with some of the poor loads I've witnessed on recent flights with them, it might be cheaper to leave em parked up.

...And, Airlines rarely go under in 6months so rumours of that happening are most likely just that; rumours. When airlines go, they usually go tomorrow and without warning. If the rumour becomes widespread enough about an impending failure then it will be expedited by the fact that no will risk travelling with them, a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts.

It will be a shame if they do go under and not only because of the folks who will be out of work but because BAH deserves something better than GF.

The question remains, do they deserve to succeed? Knowing nothing about their management and interior workings I can only wish them the best but if they have that penchant for nepotism, cronyism, wasta and all that other venture killing stuff that pervades out here then alas it may be too late.

i dont think so

im sure non of you have any idea about thier future plan or managment

1- the three A/c parking fare or africa operation joint operation with kuwaity investor , so Bahrain air are using those A/C for free if they need until the startining date
2- just have alook on the load factor
3- have alook on thier website and find the desent pepole (( company structure )).

Bahrain Air staff accused of harassment

Bahrain Air staff accused of harassment

Sunday, October 25, 2009

Yogesh Sachde, 28, has lodged a complaint against the staff of Bahrain Air at Sahar police station on Friday.

Sachde, a resident of Mulund, alleged that the staff caused him mental harassment and humiliation by not issuing him a boarding pass despite him having a confirmed ticket to Bahrain on October 23.

Sachde, who works as a senior sales executive in Bahrain, says, "I was travelling on a confirmed ticket. On reaching the airport, I found out that 16 passengers including me were not being allowed to board the flight for which tickets has already been confirmed. The staff of Bahrain Air was rude and asked us to leave the airport."

He alleged that the passengers were not given any clear explanation for the boarding passes not being issued.

Some of the passengers included ladies and children. He also alleged that some influential people had been accommodated on the same flight by the airport
authorities.

Sachde's advocates have sent a legal notice to Bahrain Air saying that appropriate legal action should be initiated against the concerned employees and compensation be given to their client.

"We have registered a non-cognisable offence against the staff of Bahrain Air and launched an enquiry into the incident," said a police officer of Sahar police
station.

(seems not many Bahrain staff visit this forum)

Hi all

Extremely keen to know how Bahrain Air is progressing now that they have converted to a bit more of a 'full service' model? Would be grateful if you could comment on the below:

- Routes (increased/decreased in the last 12 months)
- Passenger Loads
- Staff morale
- Management
- Profit/Loss
- Pilots recruitment, will there be a need for FOs in the near future?

Thanks
