Etihad A330 Interview

Hi Folks ,

going to attend Etihad interview in 3 weeks for 3 days in Abu Dhabi for a A330 First Officer position ....
If anybody knows what it consists of or has any feedback .. It would really be welcome ...

On another hand I would like to know if anybody could tell me the formula for A320 and for the A330 to calculate Green Dot according to the Gross Weight and the Altitude ..
many many thanks
Anelka

For A320

Not sure about A330 but for A320 (GW X 2 + 85). Above FL200 add 1kt per 1000' above FL200.

Or just look at the green mark on your speedband ( the left of the two ) and you have it.
Did they really ask that S***?

GD A330

Green Dot: A332

(GW multiply by 0.6) + 107= GD

Up to 20 000'. Above that add 1kt per 1000'

I have looked over my Vol1 for the 320 and I could not find how green dot is calculated. Where should I look for stuff like this?

Cityliner, in this part of the world its important to know these kinds of things. And to know the books inside and out. And if the "box" says so, it must be true, it must be so. On the other hand, flying skills and or experience is a nice to have kinda thing. Enshallah

As a recruiting officer the best answer for me would be: "I do not know!" "By the mean time if you really want me to answer to this question I can search it for you in FCOM"

Only one question DUH. Why is it more important in 'this part of the world' than any other? Maybe a little more emphasis on the skills and experience than nuts 'n bolts eh. Of course there I am showing my 'old school' thinking again. Best regards.

Thanks DUH
so I stay where I am and use the QRH for stuff like this
as I am most unlikely unable to calculate gw x 0.6 in a heavy abnormal.
Sorry for the off topic reply, good luck everyone for your selection.

I look at the airspeed indicator, there is a little green dot on it, that's the green dot speed. Never had the need to work it out in the seven years flying the 340.

There is no Formula for A340.. Just for A320 & A330..

Don't ask me why..

Google came up with this answer:

A formula to derive Green Dot for A333/A343 only (there is no formula for A346) is shown below:
0.6 x weight (tonnes) + (A333: 107 kt) (A343: 115 kt) below 20,000 ft
Add 1 kt per 1000 ft above 20,000 ft
Subtract 10 kt with one engine out. (A346: Green dot speed is not modified with one engine inoperative).
