Qatar Airways management changes (again)!
Been hearing rumours that the Chief Pilot Training has resigned!? Can anyone confirm? If true it's a pity he seemed to be doing a good job. Does anyone know if this will lead to another shakeup of all the DCPT fleets or whatever they are called nowadays?
Is AQ really the guy who will takeover as CPT!!

it's sad to see our department head of training resign his post, seems to be rumors of forced resignation as well rumors of self serving manipulation. (what else is new) regardless of what the cat drags in, the fact remains that while under the SS leadership the training department seen some positive improvements, so in the end, job well done SS.
I'm not surprised in the least though, as this has become quite a normal practice over the years here in QA. it's a constant revolving door, on all levels.
lets see what positive / not so positive changes lay ahead.
more of the same same, but different.

As one of the Prune 'silent majority' for so long, I now am compelled to comment.
Politics and back-stabbing are destroying this company. SS is taking the fall for the incompetence and inaction of the previous CP training. IM sat in his office never venturing out other than to take the money. No changes were made, no procedures amended to correct the appalling lack of standards that are obvious to anyone who cares.
No matter how you color the present situation, if it is true that AQ is taking over, then rest assured he has maneuvered himself into that spot.
Can any of us trust such a person? And while I'm at it, who is in charge of line operations standards now? A glorified Fleet Manager (CP Fleets!), a new CP Training, a TRTO, or maybe the Cabin Crew manager!

Fubaliera, I don't think there will be any fleet transfer from the 320 fleet for a long time.
I know some line pilots who are stuck for 3 years, and some instructors who are stuck for more than 5 years already including the 320 DCPT himself (now called FTM).
SS is a good manager, he was planning to move people forward (at least that is what he said) but politics seems to abort every move forward here. SS was in office for few months and he could not excute his training plans.
It seems that M.H. is being replaced too.

Very SAD!
If this is actually true, SS being removed, than the situation is even worse than I assumed it to be!
SS was the ONLY one capable in the whole airline managing that post, and in the short time he has been there he managed to errase most of the mistakes IM did. He was getting the training dept back on track, and that was what we needed!
The same goes for MH, although on a lower level.
If now AQ takes over, we are in for a rough time, as this guy does not know the least bit about managing nor training. He likes politics but lacks the vision and the personality. Very few people like him. Between AQ and IM I would take IM and that is BAD. SS should never been removed, or should never have been allowed to resign.

Be vary vary afraid. The politic has got to the dirtiest level ever in in rescent years. Now the combination of HAA,AQ,RN,HAM noone now is safe. AJ is out of control of his dept. HAA running round asking sacreteries what other managers get paid then complening he is not paid enough and he threatens rostering staff to stop managers from flying or sim work or accusing the same of making false claims for working days off.

Back from time away just in time to enter this mess! It seems to me that the new guy was able to organize the back-stabbers and the CEO listened? If this is really the case, what can we expect in the way of leadership? Would you trust anyone in the office?

Thats an easy question: very few I would trust in flight ops mngmnt.
PJ, RN, KF but thats about it.
The new guy is playing strange games and yes, he is bringing back all the backstabbers.I am wondering where he got all his credit from?
But I am afraid it will be downhill for yet some time to come.

Fleet manager B777.. you mean M.Al.K. to be honest, he's really not a bad guy, pretty easy going guy at that. does the bare minimum with the least disruption.. In this place, thats OK with me
keep up the good work.
up up and away.
