Some Ek FO challenging since company meeting

First of all, my apologies for most of the FO that are doing a great job with who it is great to work with.

I'm not dreaming, I have recently seen on many occasions many FO being very challenging for non safety issues since the FO's Company meeting.

Even writing up the captain for tea and biscuit (this is no rumours). The FO had to show up and face the music too.

I have no problem in regards to open minded, constructive discussion but, I have a problem with defiance and buggers who wants to challenge each single step that occurs all along the flight. Back stabbing was never part of my CRM and airmanship.

Keep in mind that line captains are not the one who screw your future up by playing with the upgrade rules and hiring DEC. Also that we most probably have been around longer then you and we know TREs and TRIs. Not to mention that we may become trainer before your upgrade or for you line check. People talk, and upgrade in Ek is not a due but an opportunity. I do cover all the crew that work with me as much as I can when the time come. We all should do the same isn't it?

We are all in the same boat and thanks god that most of us are cooping the best they can with the pressure and remains professional with all the airmanship that our duty requires.

Some Capt may be nasty sometimes. Don't provide us new reasons not to be a team and bite back and destroy the flight deck peaceful environment. It's not even safe to do so.

Cheers to all.

Hmmm.

99% of the Captains I fly with are excellent.

There are however the 1% who are difficult to work with because they don't follow SOP's, don't understand the aircraft, don't speak English to an acceptable standard or come from a culture that discourages subordinates to speak up even in the face of danger.

If you are having 'many' F/O's behaving badly, and from the tone of your post (from what I can decipher), then I can only surmise that you are the problem.

Perhaps you should examine your own performance rather than complain about that of your (probably very experienced) F/O.

Finally, regarding your threats about knowing TRE's and TRI's etc. - grow up and start behaving like an adult and just maybe your F/O will show you some respect because right now it doesn't sound like you have earned it.

All good points Biffo, all good points - if you're an FO.

But then..... have you been in the left seat? Your own post sounds like you could do with some eye-opening yourself. There's nothing like moving to the left seat to make you realise how much better job you might've done in the right.

I've been a long time in each seat and don't feel threatened by anything he said.

He may have a legit complaint. Walk a mile in his mocasins before you judge him and call him a child. Then, if you're wrong you'll be a mile away and you'll have his mocasins.

Fair enough Pork.

Firstly, not threatened.

Secondly, spent plenty of time in both seats actually, just not convinced by the content of Galactica's post - if it was just one or two F/O's being difficult, fair enough; but I find it a little difficult to believe that it is 'many'. And regardless of that the childish threats are out of line - we get enough from the company on a weekly basis.

Certainly, there is a serious morale issue amongst F/O's since the unilateral change in upgrade policy - but if anything the angst is directed at the company rather than the left seater.

Finally; what do you mean? I am magnificent!!!

Painful to read Galatica, likely a new upgrade or DEC? Threats of "knowing people"? Honestly....you sound a bit uptight and wound up. Time for some unpaid leave or time off maybe?

Sounds a bit like an upgraded cadet, , and then it really could be "many" who have had to keep him out of trouble, which is usually the reason to speak up !!!

Well done the f/o's concerned.

Just your attitude about being a trainer yourself one day and getting your own back means that YOU SHOULD NEVER BE A TRAINER - what a cr@p attitude. No wonder your F/Os moan at you

Precisions

Hi all,
I am surprise to see so many reply from a firing squad,

A few precisions, I did not and will not give initials, flight number, origin or specific details to keep the integrity of the concerns. I will never allow myself to do so..

Nevertheless, I can state that many of those observations were made from the jump seat on ULR flights.

I am a bit shock to see so much hatred towards DEC, cadet, upgraded pilots ( witch most probably have been captain before anyway). If Some of you think that emirates and his trainer task force have such a bad judgment toward who they pass or fail, what in your mind can they be thinking about all Ek FO ?
All Ek captains should be in the right seat and vice versa? All bad things being said here, or elsewhere will apply to you after you upgrade. What do you think all the cadets think about expats coming here and taking there jobs? I can say out loud that I am far from being a newbie and I can deal with any pilot working with me. The cadets ? Well, they don t think they are test pilots and for all those I flew with, I have great respect to see how much they achieved and how humble they can be. Yes they are lucky to fly on a large plane, learn next to experience pilots with well establish procedures. Better then the third level anyway. But hey,why aren't we all working back home then?

I was not firing on anyone, just saying that keep it cool, on day it will swing the other way around. Many here should be nicked name "LUCKY LUCK" since they are so fast on the trigger. I was being sarcastic here

Those who can fit the hat already were it as I can see.

I have no idea what the f$ck this guy is on about. The expats are here because the UAE wants the ego-stroke of an airline and can't train enough pilots fast enough in their "country", full stop. And they can't attract enough cadets because it becomes quickly apparent that when you work for Emirates, you have to, you know, like, work hard. Sometimes even at night.

What's the topic again?!

Galactica. I can see that English is most certainly not your mother tongue and for sure a lot of what you are saying is lost on most of us.

Can we leave this thread as it is and let it die.

Bark at the moon

Is this an aviation forum in here or a truck stop with cheap ugly bit$h ?
God complex may be ! Oh ! I forgot, Emirates went to your house and drag you by the hair (if you have any) to come here, so: they ought you a left seat on the largest twins in the world . So illiterate that one of the replier can’t even understand the thread and ask to shut it down, EGGW classify himself has the English language master . What ? do you think only bloks can fly a plan, got news for you son , even chiness can do.

Enough time wasted to most of the good crowd, I will deal with the trouble myself when it shows up. Fortunately, has I already stated on the first line, there isn’t so many rotten apple. Many seem to be in here though lol .

PS, more then 1200 people red this thread, not so many felt being attack , insulted or even the need to insult back.

I think I just proved my point, ciao, I have other thing to do .

How can anyone with Galactica's "command" of the English language ever make it to the flight deck of EK?

Please help me, what does any of the following mean?
"bit$h"? ...is it code for talking to ATC in the Middle East or is it one of the new VPs at Emirates?
"ought you"? ...Google says it is a lyric from a song!
"bloks"? ...the things your car is on after a shopping trip in Liverpool...sorry...
"fly a plan"? guessing some sort of new business model terminology?
"has I" without a question mark... I Googled it and it says it sounds very "Ali G"..."Booyakasha!"

When proof of working on the industry eventually comes, as a prerequisite for PPRuNe can it also include a language test, something simple say, describe what you had for breakfast... any use of text spelling should result in an instant failure as should any made up words, O and the use of the dollar or at symbol in the place of letters; either your being rude and trying to hide it or just stupid.
