U.S. D1 Visa Application process in Riyadh

Good Evening Guys,

I am based in Riyadh operating as Flight Attendant with a Private Jet and I am trying to obtain a D1 type visa for trips to the states I have a British Passport. Have any of you any experience on trying to do this in Riyadh

I dont have anyone to ask as the other crew got theirs with their previous airline. I looked on the embassy site and it said something about 3month wait list for an appointment but im unsure if that is for saudi citizens as i was told at one point it isnt the u.s embsasy here that we go to?

I could wait till my off rotation and go to London but that is in September and they want it done sooner than that.

If anyone could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it,

Thanks in advance

The US Consulate visa application process is pretty automated. The first thing you must do is do the US Visa application online and print it out. A unique barcode will be printed on your application.

Electronic Visa Application Forms - Instructions Page

Then, after (and only after) you have gotten your US Visa application completed, you can go to the NIV Appointment System.

NIV Appointment System

Simply follow the instructions. It will tell you what dates and times are available. Given your situation, book for the earliest one available but if nothing is available soon, don't dispare necessarily. Check back from time to time (appointments sometimes open up). There are options to change your appointment, just make sure to cancel your old one if you reschedule!

Typically, the US Consulate wants you to apply for a visa in the country which you are residing, in your case, Saudi Arabia. I doubt that trying to apply in the UK would be quicker or easier for you, and worst case, your application could be refused.

Check out the consulate in Dhahran Visas - U.S. Consulate General Dhahran, Saudi Arabia as it appears to have a shorter waiting time. Process is to complete the form online, pay the money in Samba and wait for the appointment date. Good Luck
