QR Medical check fee hike.
Guys with medical check due,Have enough cash in your pocket because the new fee is qr850.
Last year was 500,the year before was 300,so guess how much will it be next year?

Jump on one of our cattle trucks and head over to BAH or DXB,(more doctors in DXB to choose from) make a weekend out of it, choose from and a bunch more night life, also a nice trip out for the family, and while there, re-new your QCAA, and/or FAA and/or, CDN and/or, JAA medical. all of the above can be done with the civil aviation practitioners there for half the price and a good night out on the town.

Maybe we can post some contact numbers here, so everybody knows where to go to in BAH or DXB.
I only have an old number of Dr Jafar in Bahrain. He can renew QCAA, FAA and JAA at half the price of what is mentioned here.

And lately that dear Doctor has a tendancy to fail pilots for "inconclusive" ECG. Which forces the poor guys to almost have a heart attack by the stress caused and go see a cardiologist who will clear them right away....it happened several time over the past 2 months. I've heard it directly from one of the guys to whom it happened.
So don't hit the panic button if he pulls that one on you.

Who cares just another "cut" in our revenue(after days off down the route payment cancelled).
No problem..We are well overpaid for the hard job performed and to deal with sh.t roster,and to have the privilege of living in Doha...,so why do you want Q.R. to pay for it!
But with such a increase of the fee
(70% in one year!!!!simply disgusting for a guy who is just sitting in front of you for 2 minutes,turning the page of your file and asking you if you are fine, this job is for sure well overpaid!!!), if he continues like that itīs gone cost a fortune!
But that how it works here:money is not always going in the pocket of the people who works the hardest!

That ECG thing has been going on for years and years now. Just because him and his staff are not capable of interpreting the ECG and it has some sort of auto diagnosing system on board, so it gives a certain result.
No big deal, just go to a cardiologist and he will clear you. Only problem is that by than you will have paid his outrageous fee, the fee for the cardiologist and you probably suffered from a mild cardiac arrest from stress if this was your first time!
Happens to me everytime. Last time I asked him if I could go straight to the cardiologist for an ECG, just so I did not have to pay Al Naama's fee. Not approved of course! The best proof this whole thing is a HOAX!
And now we all have to pay for his brand spanking new office in Al Ahli hospital????We got rid of the portacabins allright, but we are paying for it deerly!
And the QCAA is not going to do anything...

Those guys still love to spent a lot of money to get a medical certificate, so donīt worry about them but about the passengers and crew they a taking for a ride.

Actually, it does make a difference because the next time you go for a medical elsewhere or loss of license they will ask if you have ever had to get a second opinion on a medical condition. Full disclosure is the best option but it is highly annoying to go through this ordeal.

Yes QR are one of the few airlines not to pay for your medical. Amiri get theirs free. Correct me but I don't think there are any Doctors in the Emirates approved to do the Qatar Medical, just Bahrain & Qatar. If any one knows one in the UAE please let us know. Dr Akel in Dubai does many countries medicals but last time I checked not Qatar.

Closterman, if you go to Doha Clinic and see a cardiologist, it won't cost you a penny. It's covered by Allianz. It's just annoying as hell but at least won't cost anything.
My understanding is after he fails you, he'll offer you to go see the cardiologist on site, meaning the one at Al Ahli....and that's a different story. Since they won't take Allianz card there and you'll have to pay an arm and a leg.
