QR A320 or A300-600
Gents,
I have been offered the DEC A320 in QR, but am increasingly reluctant to take the plunge. I just saw QR advertise for DEC A300-600 and would like some feedback from you gentlemen in the know.
How would the rostering compare to A320?
Would the freighter have the hourly duty pay on top of basic salary?
If I join, I will bring my family to Doha, so rostering is an important factor.
Thanks gents, I appreciate any info!

That is like having to choose the best from the bad options.
All depends what you like personally.
Both fleets are stretched to the limits regarding ops.
A300 gives you a wortless typerating but you do not have to deal with SLF and cabin crew. Old machines though with lots of snags!
A320 is the tuktuk fleet. Relatively new machines with new ones coming. Route structure is though but TR is the best one in the world!
The choice is yours...

B777 or A350 or B787
Call them and say if you want me to come, give me DEC B777 or Management position why not, no matter what is your background C172 or Space shuttle believe me you might get it and it is not a joke as it sound to be.
As we have history in this company of such situation, seniority means nothing
ones again it might worth a try.
as presently the other fellow pilots are presently admiring people from B737 or DHL cargo B757 getting DEC on the B777

QR Job openings
Hi Guys,
I was looking to apply to QR a little while ago as FO on any of their fleets.
I have biz jet experience and will be working in the region shortly. What's their typical hiring policy for ex biz jet guys. I'm sitting at around 3500 hrs.
Any information appreciated.

Thanks to everyone that has responded.
I have an old A320 TR, and I'm not too concerned with the aircraft type as such, rather the rostering and number of days off at home. Not having to deal with SLF and CC would be a blessing. What about the pay package, same as A320?

All pilots are paid the same in QR. Airplane type has no influence on that whatsoever.Only difference is that we all are paid per sheduled block hour. A320 does a lot of short flights with long duty time, so pilots on A320 work more for the same pay.
A300 does a mix of long and short flights, but lots of deadhead duties on the same plane and guess what, deadheading is NOT paid in QR.
This is why A330/340/777 are considered better fleets to be in because the ration blocktime/duty time is better.
Both fleets are critical in crewing, so expect to fly a lot.
7 days off in Doha guaranteed, of which two will be two days in a row.
No difference between A300 and A320 regarding that.
Bizzjet guy, expect A320 or CL300.Hours are OK if you have flown a glasscockpit crotch-rocket before!
