Saudia 777 seized in legal spat at CDG

I guess that a few folk were running around trying to sort this one out -

A Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 777-200 has been seized upon its arrival from Riyadh at the airport by bailiffs at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, according to Europe 1 radio station. Bailiffs were acting on instructions from the Saint Nazaire commercial tribunal in the west of France. Eagle Aviation, an aircraft leasing firm based in Saint Nazaire, claims that it is owed $2m for providing the aircraft.

Something very similar happened to an AirLanka L1011 at KUL, some years ago.
The bag man with $450K had to travel to Malaysia with the cash (no checks, please) before the airplane was un-chained from the ground.

Heads rolled over this fiasco, you can be sure.

No money, no honey.

The story from the coffee shop says that Eagle Aviation weren’t the owners of the B777, they are an ACMI operator who flew for Saudia, they are in court with Saudia who have contested their charges. They since filed for bankruptcy, and the administrator took it upon himself to have assets seized, hence the 777. It was released when the matter went to court!

Strange thing about this is that the Eagle Aviation crews talked about the company continuing to fly for Saudia under a different name......

No real news here , Saudia is usually late in paying . Some years ago they owed hotel fees in NYC and were kicked out . That having been said they eventually end up paying what they owe....

Good for the French!

This is typical of the species. they just wont pay until they have too. Wouldn't expect much else from them really. If it ain't slaves or little **** or little *****, they're into, then has to be something like this.
