Probably hoping for those A330 guys to transfer. But who would want to go anyway. A330 has the best roster and destinations. Who would want to move and fly only 2-3 flights per month and just sit around in Doha for the rest of the month. (Atleast for now)

Guess that most people on A320 would love to go, but I don't think that they will let us all go.

Sky320:

if you were in QA back then, thats the same thing everyone said about the A330 when it first came, but it was only a very short time later that things turned around, yes the schedule is unapealing on the B777 at the moment but within a year or less it will all change... we'll have to see I guess..

as for the A320 going B777 on a transfer, well you cannot fault the managment, the choice comes from the 9th floor office and he does not seem to want the 320 people tranfering to a widebody, as someone must have once told him that it's not a safe practice.

but as we all know, the goal posts change on a daily basis around here, and what applies today will not apply tomorrow. and so it goes.

I hope this is not meant to get pilots bonded.
Because when you make a request for type transfer,it is not a company requirement any more.
I hope this is not case.

Guys,

keep the BS for home please....

3 A320 Captains in the process of beeing transferred to the B777, 6 F/Os where transferred before and more to come.

True, A320 transfers are slower than on other fleets but this has to do with manpower demand on A320. Once the second officers start moving in and the newly hired DECS will be released on line transfers will go a bit faster.

20+ new A320 are joining the QR fleet. 50% for fleet replacement, 50% for expansion of the fleet...

A320 -b777

Cp A320 stated he can not send more than 2 capt and 2 f/o as he is short of crew . New DEC from NG and 767 or 727 will soon get there hands on B777 fleet while A320 Capt will wait better time or some new ACN .
Last A320 Capt transfered to A330 or 777 is 2y and 11 months on A320 . Long time to stay on fleet with P.M new roster system which is so bad that A320 getting sick and just searching for trans or K.A or what ever just to run away from QR 320 fleet .
It is more cheap to bring DEC on 777 then transfer A320 guys thats whats B.W and I.M claim .

Ronaldo 330:

well, in a way what BW and IM say is true, as NG or 767 guys do an abbreviated course as compared to a full course. not so much different but, there is a difference..
now raised the question, new hire compared to seasoned vet. what would serve the company better in the long run and save money on unforeseen / unusual situations .. something we have all gotten used to over the years, and years.

new faces but the same old smell.
