Mutt, BTW, Congrats on the course! I just heard the other day.
I thought the number seemed high also, but guys are apparently leaving for all 3 of the other carriers.
For example, the fellow that had taken over as Manager of the MD90/E70 has already left to SAMA. At least that is what I had been told.

Dear Mutt,
Its been excellent to read all your posts, and there seems to be little doubt on your accuracy of the details which you provide!
I had a quick question to ask and was hoping you could reply:
On international layovers, are flight deck always in good hotels?
Does the airline include a meal in the hotels?
Is it possible to get your own accomodation and receive an allowance instead of taking the compound accomodation?
thanks for all your time and effort!!

Yes (Generally.... Riyadh Sahara doesnt count
)....... but it depends on your definition of good hotel.... do you mean good standard or good location, and if you are talking about location, what defines a good location? Downtown Manhattan or a nice Long Island location?
Nope..... Per Diems paid per hour at end of the month...
Nope.... plus you wouldn't want to, the housing allowance is crap! 3x basic salary.

Then the answer is yes
But i find it strange, do you actually consider the hotels as a selection criteria? I would have thought that route structure would be more important! Not much point in knowing that you are entitled to a suite in xxxx city, if your aircraft doesn't fly there!!

the reason i was asking is becasue i am of the opinion that i dont mind flying to any country as long as i have been given good hotel acomodation (and for that i mean a good standard). All the other questions which i had have been answered by yourself previously on this thread (as so many people have sent you so many questions, and there is a wealth of information available here).
so, on that note, i would like to say 'thanks' for the time you have taken in answering my question.
All the best!

Interviews in October?
I think I have read most of the posts on Saudi Airlines, but maybe I missed something somewhere!
Can anyone tell me what is being asked in the interview? What is the sim profile and what equipment is being used for the evaluation for the A320 captain jobs? What are the medical issues which might keep someone from being hired. Are the written test questions directly from the FAA ATP Test quide or is it expanded to include NAT Track, RVSM, ETOP's, etc?
Sorry if these questions were answered somewhere else, if they were please direct me to the right post or source.

Strange as it may seem to an office wallah, the quality of hotels are really important. They define the quality of ones rest and therefore the fitness of a crew to operate.
This point is overlooked by all the bean counters in their zeal to save the company 20 halalas.
Poor rest = reduced safety. Now how difficult is that to understand?
Surprising as it may seem to all of us who actually fly for a living, this concept is as difficult to grasp as Einstein's Theory of Relativity to the chaps who work in offices and who go to bed at 10 pm every night and sleep soundly with a gut full of sid.

Yahoo.... holidays over, Ramadan over, EID over...... Let the chaos continue
1st A320 due in 2 weeks, 9 before the end of the year. 1st expat Captain class starts 2nd week Oct in TLS. B747C FO AND FE class starts around the same week.
A320 Captain interviews in Oct, I believe in Jeddah.
SFS Captain/FO interviews in Nov, in Dubai.
The one thing that puzzles me is that of the 20 crew hired in the last couple of months, NO ONE is bitching on pprune
