For me it took 5 weeks. I believe that is the average. Good luck.

I heard that Ey was getting very selective lately (2 hired out of 12 candidates) and classes are offered for next summer

Interview success rate

This seems to vary with each group. In my group 2 out of 8 made it. A couple weeks later every one in the group made it. We were told by a Checkairman or Instructor with two pilot students (don't know which he was) in the sim center that "at this point you are only competing with yourself, Etihad will hire all that are qualified."

It does not make sense to set an arbitrary failure rate for a group of interviewees. The company spends a fair amount of time and money assessing each pilot that comes in the door. Hotel costs, Blocked airline seats for travel, Medical costs etc.

I filled in the application for 777 F/O. I have around 5000 hours mostly 757/767 time and am not rated. However I got an automated reply saying I don’t meet the recruitment requirements?

The only thing I can see it that it states 777 rating PREFERED?

Don't really want to apply for airbus but will it make a diff as they seem to need more airbus guys than boeing??

Any guesses?

BB

Seems like it's running at least 1 month from filling out application to being called for an interview....I've heard that all interview slots are full through the end of 2008. Good luck!

i Think my problem was down to there being no 777 recruitment, only airbus. I have submitted that so will see what happens.

Also noted that they are advertising in flight this week.

what is the meaning of "they are advertising in flight this week?" In flight as in cabin crew?

I think the road show they recently conducted in the states may have backed things up quite a bit.

Etihad came to several cities in the United States that serve as hubs for many of the major carriers and set up dozens of interviews from late september through november

That's correct, All the interview slots until the end of the year are filled with people who attended the US Road Show this summer and who are currently typed on the airbus.

For the Boeing guys they will be interviewing for the 777 fleet next summer. Hang in there and you'll get the call

No idea how long you'll have to wait. But from what I hear if you interviewed today you would not be in ground school till May or June.....
