Thumbs up 767 Capt

I need some advise, Retire at 50 take the money and run. Would anyone in their right mind leave a legacy lets say like A*A to go to the middle east and go make more at Qatar or Emirates?

If you retirement is "unprotected" i.e. the company has control over it and can withhold or deny all or part of it at a later date then I would consider the possibility of leaving the airline. It also depends on the financial status of the airline and what it is projected to be in the next couple of years. If the airline is struggling and the writing is on the wall then I would take the money and run. On the flip side of things, flying in Asia or the ME for that matter is a very different cup of tea from what you may have experienced at a legacy carrier for the past 20 years. Pprune is a good source of information with regard to differences, quality of life, management issues etc etc. If you interview and drink nothing but the "company coolaid" you will likely be unhappy. If you come with your eyes open and the realization that things will be different and not all the way HR Dept said it would be, then I think that would be a better approach. It is a difficult decision and I don't envy you. Perhaps there are other pprunners in your situation who can advise you as well. Best wishes.
