Helping DAE?

Dubai Aerospace to purchase Emirates 777F, 747-8F deliveries
Dubai Aerospace Enterprise is acquiring through what it says is a "split purchase and leaseback deal" 10 747Fs and eight 777-200Fs previously ordered by Emirates. DAE said the agreement will increase its leasing portfolio to 49 aircraft, with a further 200 on order for delivery between 2010 and 2013.

Anyone have an idea what the meaning of this might be? Could it be that DAE isn't running as smoothly as at first thought? Or will EK release them from DAE to give them a profit?

It means that EK is no longer sure the -8F were a good purchase. The 310F s are on the way out and the 777LRF will most likely be converted to pax. As EK does not have any use for the -8I pax, this is likely to be a pretty short term lease. Try them for a year and if no good give them back to the lessor who might lease them onwards to Connie Kalitta - who could need them if he sustains the current attrition rate of his fleet.
