First time I see any mention of a new runway. Everything I've seen hitherto shows only a new terminal being built on the west side of the ramp

That's the plan for the new Bahrain airport in 2025 'ish. The land and landfill area is already identified and consultants have been defining the layout etc for over a year.

They hardly built an emergency runway, with absolutly no use. Any expansion plan is useless. They should go for a new Airport south of bahrain, near Durrat.

Bahrain airport should'nt be part of Bahrain, it can only compete Khartoom's airport.
