EK to double its fleet again

From the Arabian Business, EK is set to have 450 aircraft by 2020.
Prior to then aircraft totals will be around 200 by 2012.

Judging by the amount of ULR flying EK is doing, pilot numbers would have to be in excess of 7000! Cabin crew???? Well over 50 000!

Emirates has been quoted as saying they double their fleet around every 3 to 4 years! When will it stop?

Contrary HH Sheik Ahmed was just cited in Khaleej Times 22nd April that EK would NOT make any further announcements since the Fuel costs are becoming a real problem and most of all, the plan for the next decade or so, is all set up.
So, no orders @ Farnborough, time to breathe!!

the number 'f aircraft, at 450, could be includin' the new aircraft which will be in use by the new Dubai based low cost carrier bein' nurtured through its infancy by Mr. Gaith Al Gaith an' co.

Fer all intents 'n purposes, the new carrier will be EK Lite, until it's ready to stand on 'er own. This makes a lotta sense financially and administratively an' so on. It's possible this scenario includes those aircraft numbers.

Heck, there's been so many purchase announcements, I cain't believe anyone actually knows the accurate number anymore!
