Profit Share Announcement

Usually by this time we have had an e mail inviting us "managers" to the profit share meeting at some or other hotel...
any ides where or when? It does seem unusual that they are keeping it quiet. I am hoping that the reason is is by not giving prawn wraps and non diet coke to us they will save money on the event and thus be able to give us the 12 weeks that we are counting on

They can count the US pilots but exactly how many they can count on to come here and, more to the point, stay here is another matter.

I doubt that they will be any more resilient than those of us that have been here for a while. The same factors of mismanagement, inflation, safety, security, FTLs, ULRs will hit them just as hard as they have us.

Good luck to them all regardless. Get the rating and the experience and eventually, hopefully, get back home.

US citicens in the desert (not only for the war)

They can count the US pilots but exactly how many they can count on to come here
I had an interview few days ago: 11 people total, 9 from US 2 from EU.

The dollar is like a sheet of paper, euro is too high for us to join M-rats only for the salary.

Very strange political situation "the bad middle east" need US citizens!

The only thing i don't like about UAE is that they give you a VISA, but if they come to US you don't give them anything. This is not good.

enjoy

Its called supply and demand, I don't think there are 2 many expat pilots needed in Nth America.

Hope the interview went well, JRJ

Yes, thank you, my referee has been contacted few days ago.

I think the world is one, if you move to the UAE you have to know where you're moving to.

If you want that the whole UAE are the same as a US city, you are in the wrong place.

They don't have any school like Columbine, you can't have a gun in your pocket, and the president will'be always the same one.

Nobody here will never go to D.C. to remove the President. (unfortunately)

Best RGDS.

Yep me too, sounded like direct from the planet Tharg. I am pretty sure there are more guns per head in this region than the US. Anyway staying off topic, "It doesn't matter who you vote for, the president always gets in!"

De cyphering

Ok! here goes.

Columbine School? Young kid(s) walked into a school in Columbine and shot anything that moved. It was on the news a couple of years ago.

The president will always be the same one? Reference is made to the ruling families in the UAE. You dont have to vote for a president like you have to in the US of A.

Nobody here will never go to DC to remove the president (unfortunately)? Ok, this one is really easy! DC = Washington DC. president = G.W. Bush (unfortunately) Removing G.W. Bush from office, referring to Saddam Hussein being removed from Baghdad or Tikrit by the Yanks.

Elementary my friends.

Or it could be....

They don't have combine schools like in Colombia, where the school president has the same gun in his pocket he can't remove.

Well all I have been hearing is how this is the biggest profit share that we will ever get but what I am more interested in is the increase in basic pay which contributes to the provident fund which in the long run will be more beneficial for us. But it has all been hush hush on that toic. Anyone care to shed some light?

Not good im afraid. The company believes inflation is officially running at 8 percent yup 8 percent in Dubai can you believe that. 5 airlines in USA into chapter 11 we were told that it should release quite a lot of NG rated pilots. Oh lets not forget the oil price. Oh and the oil price and oh yes the oil price!! They also believe housing allowance is quite inadequate and are aware of this but at the companies official line of 8 percent inflation would not hold out for anything above 10percent increase making it a whopping 155k AED for captains 35K less than royal jet cabin crew housing allowance!! Profit was over 1 billion USD but still waiting for the official audit and the big grab of dividend payouts before the announced profit. So in summary increases on the way.... 3 percent on scales plus 7 per cent to make it a world beating and inflation busting 10 percent on salaries. 10 percent on housing allowance a little tinker with schooling allowance, 20aed per hour flight pay, 6 weeks bonus....... Then look out for the next wave of cost neutral directives, possibly an increase in the OT thresholds....

The magicians are in the building...

Only a few weeks to go and the magicians are in EKHQ with their mirrors and smoke machines trying to find a way of covering Maurice's admission of reaching profit targets months ago.

David Blane has been booked to make the final address and somehow millions of $s will disappear into thin air (SVPs bank accounts) and inflation will miraculously bear no relation to reality.

He will then saw TC in half... (just wishful thinking)

Given AS and ED's latest comments, I would guess that this will be the worst pay review ever for pilots with regard to their expectations.....
