EK hiring DEC's?

EK was hiring DEC's some time ago. Are they still doing that?

Sadly it's inevitable, with the latest copy of Safar quoting a need for 5000 pilots by 2014!! And just where are 3000 pilots coming from in next 6 years?
The company would help itself immensely if it would employ cruise pilots for the ULR flights.... And obviously pay a lot more

And that's just EKs plans to satisfy let alone the others...

Without the pay the only way EK and the others look attractive is by lowering experience levels for both F/O and DECs... Recruitment know it, training is feeling it, the line will have to deal with it and the company will inevitably have to pay for it.

hiring dec's

Maybe I was mislead but I assumed most DEC came from the US with it's mandatory age 60, now that they go to 65 will that not dry up their supply?

Well, age 65 WOULD have dried up the DEC market but with ATA shutting down with a bunch of 757 and DC10 Capt's. they should have a few. Oasis HK will free up some heavy pilots, too.

Quite a windfall for EK management, IMO. TC
