Talking emirates

was just wondering what it's like working for EK?
has anyone got any hard info about time to command (heard around 2 yrs, salary - USD or Dinars?, staff travel, and what of this talk of basings.
Does anyone know how the basings will work, or even if the go ahead has been given?
Have surfed the EK web site.
Any more info people?
Much obliged

All of the information you need to know has been the subject of much debate and conjecture lately. Check the threads from the last few days in "rumours and news" and you will find several about emirates. Alternatively do a search and you will find some other threads from a few weeks ago with more info still!

Basings? : If basings were ever brought in, (which I doubt),they would only be short term and perhaps for contract pilots, if they are ever stretched far enough for that to ever occure.
The UAE and in particular Dubai is a huge circular money making machine. i.e. What EK pays for accommodation, schooling, health care, furnishings, salaries etc in the whole, boosting the local economy and altemately ends up back in one of the ruling families bank accounts.

If they move crew away from DXB they will stop spending their money there and a lot of people won't like that, including the company.

So don't hold your breath for an EK basing!
