I read the revamped website this morning as well.. .I understand that Qatar Airways has 5 A-330's order for delivery begining in May/02. The recruitment call is however, for pilots with A-300/310 or A-319/320/321 endorsements.. .This leads one to believe that all new 330 seats will be filled internally first. Kudos to Qatar for following this time honoured policy.. .Speculation time; Is there enough interest in flying the 330 from within the current ranks to fill all the new seats? . .Will Qatar recruit 330 drivers directly onto the machine if necessary? I imagine they might have to.. .Finally, what chance is there for a 330 only pilot of being hired onto the 320?

All very intersting points Mcdoo. I am wondering if crews will be CCQ rated so that they could swap between the A330 and the A320 or will they keep both fleets seperate.. .. .I presume that the future of the A300-600 will play a big role in determining just how many seats they will have to fill. I have not heard too much about the proposed A300 cargo operation however I did hear that QR do intend to keep some of their A300s to cope with immediate expansion plans before the rest of the A330s arrive, as only 2 are being deleivered this year.. .. .MG
