Do you really expect an answer to that sort of question?

Discretion is the name of the game..

Why on earth did you post a link to this couple?? If you have a problem with her attire, take it elsewhere!

As for which plane they used, its none of your business!

Why would al-Waleed want to borrow the 747SP from the royal fleet? He has his own 744 and an A380 on the way

Chill guys - it was a no-brainer. Underwriters wanted an additional premium, lots of Internet briefings available, spoke with a couple of local pilots who had some good pointers, permit was a cinch, US controllers were great, vectors onto a Shuttle-like spiral from 15,000 agl overhead, stablized at 1,000' and we were tankering enough gas for the next sector which was four hours. Ramp was congested but the folk were really good & we got it parked, ran a bit late; the ISAF commander (thanks Peter) was a star in immediately providing after-dark departure clearance. Star of the day was the nicest old Afghan gentleman who ran the ramp & made everything happen. So humble yet capable.

Really hope they get that place sorted out. History says they won't but the people there deserve it.

"Where in the "West" do they dress in a two-piece embroidered tribal outfit??? Oh yes, I forgot.....Londonistan!"

Call it what you like jacket and trousers on women are definitely not Asian or Arab clothing, and western designers are known to create some rather tasteless wear too be it for Arab clients or even otherwise.

"'She' looks more like a drag queen to me"

Most women from the Middle East and the Meditteranean region tend to have that appearence, its not even considered as such in these parts of the world, but I guess you had to say something derogatory.

"Why would al-Waleed want to borrow the 747SP from the royal fleet? He has his own 744 and an A380 on the way"

I didnt know he has his own 744, maybe he decided to make a low profile appearence using an "airline" aircraft.

"Why on earth did you post a link to this couple?? If you have a problem with her attire, take it elsewhere!

Mutt"

I never said I have a problem with her attire, infact it was a pleasent surprise to see her this way considering what we hear about Saudi's, dont know why you have taken offence to me posting the picture, it should be seen like something positive. Or was she not meant to be exposed? well the photographer caught her and now her pics are everywhere.

As for why I asked about the aircraft? just out of curiosity as an aviation enthusaist, no harm in that, people share such information all the time related to world leaders aircraft when they travel abroad, more so to places like Kabul and Baghdad and spotters tend to share the intinerary including timings and routing despite security concerns.

may be (it's not such a stupid idea...) the official Saudi royal fleet aircraft is fitted with ECM equipment and flares dispenser.... and his private a/c not....

and that kind of stuff may be paramount in Kabul !

Thumbs up

Amidst all discussions in this thread, I would like to add this excerpt from Wiki:

"Al-Walid is not part of the ruling executive within the House of Saud and has generally kept out of politics. However, he has recently started to make overt political statements in his press releases and interviews. His views can be seen as critical of Saudi traditionalism, proposing reforms to elections, women's rights and the economy. He has also openly criticized operation of the state-owned oil company, Saudi Aramco. He is vocal about women's rights and hired the first female airline pilot in Saudi Arabia, Hanadi Hindi."

Desert Diner,

I think he's dead serious about his post... regarding the details of the routing and timing....

I'm just about puzzled as you are, as to why?
