yeah, the details are hard to get, they're deleted out of the system. Therefore the EK way of calculating duty might be less. However the crew had to remain on board for a looooong time because firstly EK wanted them to refuel and then fly up to JFK again!! Finally this didn't work, but the crew had to stay put until the pax were allowed to disembark and the whole circus finally could go somewhere to rest. Thus 28 hours, maybe not EK duty hours, but f*^&ing presence time that will not be payed entirely!
But we all have to wait for a official report, don't we .....

You got my vote of confidence GMDS, regardless of 18 or 28 hours (or anywhere in between), i agree with you!

Gentlemen, the fear of being punished or lose our jobs should never stand in the way of us being true to ourselves, our training, what we were taught and the safety of operations the world over...... As silly as it may sound, we do actually have a body (if not bodies) of organisations that would back us up....
