Royal welcome for Bahrain Air
BAHRAIN Air's first aircraft received a royal welcome when it arrived at the Bahrain International Airport yesterday.
The welcome party for the A320 Airbus included Bahrain Air chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, managing director Ibrahim Al Hamer, commercial operations director Mohammed Fakhri and maintenance and operations director Captain Ahmed Yaquby.
Civil Aviation Affairs Under-Secretary Captain Abdulrahman Al Gaoud, Bahrain International Airport Company chairman Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa and Bahrain Airport Services officials were also present.
The celebration featured a cake-cutting ceremony and speeches.
The airline's first commercial flight to Dubai takes off at 7am today.
The carrier has three aircraft already in place and plans to introduce a further four by the end of the year. By 2010 the airline intends to have 10 aircraft.
Bahrain Air's plan is to serve the GCC, Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontinent

The plane was A9C-BAZ and they have another one wet-leased

Safe landings.
One remark. There must be something wrong with the a/c's registration.

Andreas.

A9C-BAZ is the correct regn. Strange it may be being a new airline with intentions to expand or even become the national airline, they should have started with A letter of another 3 letter set. BAH already exists(ed, i am not sure). Good luck to Bahrain Air and its staff.

It will be (most likely) BAB on the ATC flight plan and AWAL on "the airwaves".

What are you trying to smuggle into the country that can't already be found here?

Hmmm, interestingly and thankfully a couple of threads talking about importing some RC devices into Bahrain, have disappeared...from the
"Bahrain Air" thread...
Never mind, please disregard my remark.
Cheers

Your not seeing things softy - I got rid of them as they were upsetting you.

For those interested - BBC World's Middle East Business Report which airs today (Friday 8th Feb) will be taking a look at Bahrain Air and the stiff regional competition it faces.

Edited to change date.
