Royal welcome for Bahrain Air
BAHRAIN Air's first aircraft received a royal welcome when it arrived at the Bahrain International Airport yesterday.
The welcome party for the A320 Airbus included Bahrain Air chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, managing director Ibrahim Al Hamer, commercial operations director Mohammed Fakhri and maintenance and operations director Captain Ahmed Yaquby.
Civil Aviation Affairs Under-Secretary Captain Abdulrahman Al Gaoud, Bahrain International Airport Company chairman Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa and Bahrain Airport Services officials were also present.
The celebration featured a cake-cutting ceremony and speeches.
The airline's first commercial flight to Dubai takes off at 7am today.
The carrier has three aircraft already in place and plans to introduce a further four by the end of the year. By 2010 the airline intends to have 10 aircraft.
Bahrain Air's plan is to serve the GCC, Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontinent
The plane was A9C-BAZ and they have another one wet-leased

A9C-BAZ is the correct regn. Strange it may be being a new airline with intentions to expand or even become the national airline, they should have started with A letter of another 3 letter set. BAH already exists(ed, i am not sure). Good luck to Bahrain Air and its staff.

yea it's 2B sorry! - Their flight took off at 7AM To Dubai and sounds that everything went good - Tomorrow there are 2 DXB Flights

Hmmm, interestingly and thankfully a couple of threads talking about importing some RC devices into Bahrain, have disappeared...from the
