EK Open Time

Am I blind and missing it or did they pull off the open time link again on the portal? Can't find it.

Can you explain why he/she wouldn't??

I find a bit of open time Horse trading can be quite beneficial to my roster.

It should be back because the start of month turmoil should be over by now

Yeah, I can. I forgot to bid for days off for a school event for my kid and didn't want to call in sick (sorry I'm honest that way). I was looking to swap out a trip for it through open time, like I've done numerous times in the past and I can't find it on the portal. Open time is a great tool to improve QOL if you are awarded trips you don't want or, as in my case, accidentally forget to bid off certain days.

Now, can you explain why you have to be a jerk when I ask an honest question? Or are you going to give me the same old tired excuse of how anyone picking up open time is ruining the company for the rest of the pilot group and playing right into management's hands? Or maybe you will spout off about the glory days when things were so much better and everything has gone down hill over the last five years. Or maybe just turn it into a discussion about how dine on demand sucks. Yawn, same conversation over and over.

I was trying to ask an honest question and thought maybe I had missed something and someone had a little info for me. But I forgot we had to throw in some bashing in there too. Lets get the next six posts out of the way and then maybe I can get some info that will help me solve my small issue.

Fred Garvin M.P.

Relax, I empathise with you. You are spot on regarding how PPRuNe is nowadays. The price of progress I say. But keep those questions coming though.

Anyway, you are not blind, Open Time IS missing. Also the portal has been slow recently and CRS Bidding is also abnormally slow now. So it seems a few problems there.

Q.N.H., N.F.H., Master,
Thanks for the replies. Sorry if I sounded anal. 8 years of marriage tends to let you see right before someone tries to bi$%h slap you!

Garvin rather aggressive are we not.

You swap a trip for your QOL which i presume stands for quality of life and ditch yours you are simply passing the problem to the poor shmuck on standby who then has to fly your discarded duty.Fishing for overtime doesnt help either!!

So relax open time is yet another way to screw the crew in the long run take it or leave it!

Fred, are you a member of, and have you tried Ander's swap group?

While I'm at it, let me congratulate Anders for providing such an excellent, if unofficial service, and close in saying that I can't believe how many of the pilots in EK haven't bothered to join it.

Garvin,

Your title harks back to the days when tv was funny.
