Hi there,
I would like to know if there are any pilots on this forum based at Istanbul Ataturk or Sabiha Gokcen airports. As i am about to move to istanbul in january i would like to gather some information about carriers and the possiblilty of recruitment. Any information will be gratefully received and i thank you in advance.

Hi James,
The facts in Turkey are that 99% of the time you have to be a Turkish citizen to get a job. However there are some airlines that hired foreigners in the past, but only if you have the required rating and some time on type ranging from 200hrs on type to 1000 hrs on type. Here is a list of airlines that hired foreigners in the past
ATLAS JET operates B757 and A320
SKY AIRLINES B737-400/800
PEGASUS B737-400/500/800 started to furlough the non turkish citizins though as per 31 october so basicly there should be no no foreigners left at pegasus with a few exceptions.
ONUR AIR A320/1 A300-600
TURKISH AIRLINES takes only turkish citizins and mostly ex military.
