Going back a bit but it used to be Frankfurt. They did tighten up the procedure and you must get it in the right order, medical, writtens and then flying tests and I believe the paper work has to be approved, log book checked etc. before you start.

Ek Cae Centre

Check Emirates/ CAE simulator centre (04-2187198 switchboard) there is a designated FAA inspector stationed for airline handling. He had a terminal for written exams!
May be you are lucky to get your writtens out of the way here.
good luck

You can try this link for a list of test centres / centers.
http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certific...on/airmen_FAQ/
The .pdf is linked under the question "Where can I find the nearest computer testing site?"

...and there's more

a little further down the same page, under the question "Where can I find the FAA's Airman Knowledge Test Questions?" is a link to all the questions, just in case they might ask you one you don't know.
Long live freedom of information, and actually having to know anything....

, I had to take an FAA written exam in April. CAE in DXB was a choice of testing locations, however they wanted to charge 5 times the price and it was only given on certain days of the wk. I ended up taking the test in the US for around $100. Good luck
