Villa for single EK captains...

I was just wondering, does anyone know what the ruling is on villa's for EK captains if they are single, or married but family is living abroad?

Recently a lot of non-EK people got evicted from their villa's in Jumeirah and Mirdif etc.. The point is that apparently villa's are for families only. What about single living captains who got a villa in Jumeirah? Can we expect accomodation to suddenly put all single people back in apartments because doing otherwise would be against the law? Or will EK pilots be treated different than the normal population, the way it also is for obtaining a driving licence?

Thumbs up

Or EK might well be saying adios to a helluva lot of single pilots, plus those that share and commute. Doesn't matter if you are married and commute and live alone.
The muppets in the municipality don't realise that Western expats see this as very oppressive, at a time when many of us are finding it difficult to stay in DXB due to the $$$ tanking.

It might help that our boss is Shk Ahmed.

As I understand it the law is very clear that single people can not live in villas full stop. This law has always existed but has never been properly enforced. If you are married and your wife has a Dubai residence visa you are okay even if she doesn't live here full time. In fact all she has to do is pop in for a day or so every six months to keep the visa valid.

How Emirates get around this for single captains will be interesting.

The real reason for the law is to stop 'batchelors' living together. Before the pink parade get all upset, they are worried about 40 jinglies living together in a villa, not one western ex-pat pilot.

Corkey McFuz,

SINGLE F/O. ---- 2 bedroom apartment

SINGLE CAPTAIN --- Villa. OR 3 bedroom apartment IF you choose so.

Thats it. P.S. Trust me... its not 'Hell' being Single here
