accommodation EK staff in dubai

hi guys,

just been offered a position in Dubai airport with Ek! Looking to rent a room in DXB with some EK staff. Does anyone know were i would look into this, what the price would be, whats the best location etc.

Would it be easy to live in DXB with 10,000 Dhs per month not including assisted accommodation?

10K would be just about OK if you had accommodation, but not if you don't. Do not underestimate how much it is going to cost you to live. The papers have been full of stuff this week about people who share accommodation getting kicked out, as Villa's are for families, not bachelors of ladies to share. It might be quite difficult to find shared accommodation in the near future.

EK will HAVE to revise their renumeration packages soon.

What they offer accomodation wise simply isn't good enough!

for all rental offers look at gulf news classifieds, the online ones are the same as print edition so you see the market. they have a section on shares.

As for 10K being enough, yes and no. Many people in Dubai are on less than 10K +housing allowance. Many on this forum have rents higher than 10K, if its enough depends on what you are looking for form life in dubai.

Figure, some thing like renting a car (206/lancer) 1700-2000 AED per month and then the rest of your daily life cost like any major city in Europe. If you like that its OK if not then oh well...

Dubai is not cheap, and you can make it as expensive as you choose, but 10K is not bad wages outside EK in Dubai.
