Of EY and world records.........

Kudos to EY for getting into the GBR But having gone through the article over and over again am at a loss as to what exactly mean feat got them into the record books ? Maybe those in the know could explain what the record is all about Basically would like to know what criteria makes it a world record ............

P.S Am sure in GF we have set records of our own but have been "overlooked" for an entry into this famous publication............

Etihad Airways is a platinum sponsor of the Al Ain Aerobatic Show
Captain Granger Narara, Etihad Airways' vice president flight operations, flew into the record books as he piloted an Etihad Airbus A330-200 in formation with a Sukhoi Su-26 and an Extra-300S, two stunt planes.
Why do I have visions of the GF Flybye of the Bahrain GP comercial.

Who knows, the may be the GBWR Etihad Edition
  • I'm sure there will be a few other "records" in there too.
  • First Airline to call itself Etihad.
  • First Airline whose name begins with an E to use AUH as its hub
  • First Airline to fly DUB-AUH non-stop
  • First Airline to take over the GF DUB-ME flight
  • First Airline in Abu Dhabi to make a list of "records" for its very own GBWR
  • Latest Airline to get sh

Now if the Etihad A330 would have done some rolls in unison with the Extra 300 (or at least one more roll than 'Tex' Johnson did in the 707), that would have been something!

My point exactly ! It's amazing what it takes to get into the GBWR these days. Remember when l was growing up l would marvel at some of the entries in this once august publication. Now it's as good reeading a British tabloid on a ride in the underground. Am sure if they went to ''Pet Pong" they would re-name it the "Guinness DVD of World Records" coz a book won't be able to handle all those reecords. (Can't say have been there myself, just heard rumours but neither can l deny my patronage of the place.......)

Nice one Desert Diner, "....first airline to call itself Etihad" Gees this world is crawling with world records...........
