Reverse flow-- Etihad to Gulf Air

Talked to a cabin crew friend of mine and it sounds like some of the girls and boys who left months earlier for Etihad, have come to the conclusion that things aren't quite what they bargained for and are reapplying to Gulf Air.

The three major complaints about their new Company seem to be related to housing, overall disorganization, and that they are being made to feel unwelcome. We lost some really good people and I hope we'll be seeing some of them back soon.

A Flight Attendant I know says some of them share rooms. An apartment of 3 bedrooms houses 6 of them.

Not suprising as all EY seems to be is GF Mark II but with new planes so they are still clean.

This seems to be deja vu from the early 90's.

Had heard many of the same complaints from former colleagues..sad to hear this...but for some of them, their very unwelcoming attitude they portrayed to the GT girls throughout the GT era is now coming home to roost...and it serves them right

Haha yes it was...I did get called "traveller trash" once...(I was kinda proud of that though) goes to prove the old saying "you reap what you sow" actually most of the more "senior" transfers are ex-GT anyway...how silly can things become?? Aren't the crews bonded for a period at EY as well??? Had heard 90 days....soon to come our way as well I recently heard...

From what I've heard from contacts, the ones who want to return are a very small minority..

EY to GF

From what we hear rejoiners from EY will not be given their previous seniority or titles. So why would anyone be interested?!

Reverse flow-- Etihad to Gulf Air
No surprise here. I would be surprised if they were given the same seniority as before their departure to EY. It happens anywhere. There is a line of consistency to be kept. If it's broken, it will be the beginning of many other problems.

From what I hear, all returning crews will come as new hires-- no old seniority back, and subject to a good record.

I also hear that GF is going to AUH to recruit. Interesting times.

Reverse Flow????
Pilots is one thing. The reversal of resignations for flight deck is now over. Most have already committed and are in motion to move if they have not already.
Are we talking cabin crew? If so they are much fewer than a small percentage coming back that went over in the mad dash. The ones that are coming back are the ones we didn't want in the first place. As for nothing to do in AUH? The GDN the 2 days back had a column from a Brit newspaper where the columnist voted that Bahrain is the most boring place on earth....Before you sharpen your knifes on me i am just stating the article.
We have more acting post holders at GF than in Bollywood. What is the plan for the next year? 6 months? next month? Plan is to keep the carrot just out of reach. No new AC's, No new routes, no ideas....just rumors and lots of them.
So there will be no reverse flow of quality crew returning to the island. Just my opinion.
