Jet Star

Well guys, it has happened.

According to flight international JetStar are looking for 787 drivers based in Melbourne and Sydney.

Requirements are 777 or similar.

Do you think that there will be any takers or will there be a stampede?

Frankly no
Their T & C are not that good so there will be a few but I doubt a stampede, especially if you're not an Ozmate.

Only a small amount of guys would be interested from EK.The pay alone would be enough not to go let alone the downgrade to F.O after 3 years.

Met some JetStar drivers in Narita recently. They weren't very happy.

You will need to pay for a whole lot of travelling between YMML and YSSY, pay for the psych tests, pay for the sim ride....all before you even attend an interview. After all that, about a third get through.

Does anyone have a precis of the actual Ts & Cs on offer?
Very little info on their website, unless you actually fill out an application.

And people accept that ?

Oz is a beautiful place but paying 40c in the dollar on that kind of salary your motivation would have to be to live in your home country. That can be the only draw card. A few more years in the Gulf for me, me thinks.

Virgin 777 commands better and more of them......can also live in Aus and work for Korean , no reserve at home pay is better than Jet star and you dont pay Aus tax...Also heard Jet Airways is going to fly to Australia probably Sydney, another basing possible there.

A lot like me just want to make money offshore in order to afford coming back home for a much smaller salary. As much as I'd like to work from home, at the end of the day, it simply doesn't pay enough.
