You are probably one of those who complains about everything in life so let me correct you on some of the stuff in your previous post:

- Command is moving pretty fast at the moment. I joined as a second officer about 6 years ago and got to 4000 hours about 3 months ago... just did my command assessment flight!

-I have an orange juice and nuts on all my flights. If you are a nice enough person and don't think you're the king of the jungle just coz you have a couple of stripes on your shoulder, you can get anything you want from the crew provided the pax don't want it.

But you are right about the bond though....

Dear,

If you got into this ****hole as Second Officer and got your Command, kudos to you. About Evian, Nuts and Orange juice and crazy Air crew Notices, ask EXPERIENCED Airline Pilots who are still in QR and joined before 2006-7.Please Stop this Psycologic bull**** about complains in life. QR sucks and that's the reality. The only guy that I saw saying amazing things about QR, is that guy from training that I guess is a Captain now. He WAS F/O from Europe back in 2006
DON'T ask for Evian Water on your flights as a Commander and the pre flight without your cap on.
I wish you a great career and later a real Airline to fly.
Use them as they use you.Stay on the assigned fleet as Captain, if you change, the bond time will reset.
A320 opens a lot of doors everywhere. Don't fall for B787.
Lot of my friends did and now are f.
Better to stay in the A320 and they will push you free to 330/350.

Regards

Ntr fo application

There are 3 option
1)Boeing typrated FO
2)Airbus type rated FO
3) Ntr FO
Is no 1 option being used as a substitute for ntr FO b 777/787?

September B777 course date

Ok. And is it more or less normal for the company to schedule and fill courses so far out in advance?...

I was personally given about 20 days notice, however I think they try to accommodate others who need more time....many people require 3 months notice at work so 4-5 months may be the norm.
They asked at the interview how much time or notice you required.

I got the offer for 787 in April with joining date in November. Based on my request because of my notice period. It seems normal for them to plan so far ahead..

Whenever somebody accepts an offer, what's the process like at this point when it comes to Company medical, Immigration medical, residence visa etc?

Can we expect another trip to Doha to complete all these before joining?

QR will give you four months notice before your joining date. All license and government medical screenings are done after you arrive. Priority is given to the government medical since this is the first step in getting your Residency Permit, RP. Without the RP you cannot apply for a driving license or internet, etc. The RP process can take a month. The aviation medical is more of a logistical exercise and not very tough. If you have no issues on your home medical you will not have any issues here.

Bring an International Driving License! You can rent a car and drive it on an International Driving License for up to six months after joining but only for one week on your national license.

Organize a rental car before joining. I can recommend Strong Auto but there are many others. Renting a car is very easy and will cost you around QAR2,000/month. Do an internet search. You will only get company transportation for the first week, after that you must have your own car. Many guys share a car for the induction and ground school phase when everyone has the same roster.

Hours

Here's a quick one. I've got loads of 737-300 hours, but only 250 800 hours. I need 500 737-800 hours for their criteria, and am getting about 50 800 hours per month.

When I apply i have to supply the last two pages of my log book, which is no big deal. What I'm getting at is I want to apply now in expectation that I'll have more than enough hours, pending I pass selection and then see through my 3 months notice.

But I'm afraid they'll check my hours straight away and get in bother.

What would you do, and when do they want the whole log book?

If you don't meet the minimums yet, then don't apply.

If you are considering lying to submit your application
you are asking for trouble, these people fire first and
ask questions later. You could find yourself in a Qatar
jail for a short visit.

Wait till you have what you need, then apply.
