Dubai, a safe place???

Two weeks ago another robbery happened in EK compound. My motorcycle was stolen from the garage which should be garded by Transguard company. The bike was on the trailer and locked, only 6 meters away from the security guys post.Since I have been talking about this incident with my friends I have noticed that similar things are happening too often. Our security haven't seen anything suspicious movements and evening before my motorcycle was stolen an robbery happened to my neighbours car.
My question is why nobody never see anything and nothing is reported? How safe we are after all??
I reported this incident right after it happened. Two weeks after the policeforce in Dubai cannot even find my file which was reported!
Transguard asking me to file an report, and after I did, I haven't heard a word from them. What is the security? it seems like everything is wiped under the carpet and nothing never happens in Dubai since this is a crimefree zone. Really?
If you have similar incidences to tell, please write it down. Maybe one day we can catch this unofficially organized crime and stop it somehow! Welcome to Dubai!!!!

Do you pay any tax? Do you have any opportunity of voicing your preference when it comes to electing the governement?

This is the gulf Mr šthe sky is always blueš. Welcome in the gulf.

You come if the conditions please you and you leave when you had enough.

Don't try to change anything here and don't annoy us with your bicycle getting stolen when maids are getting raped, and labourers are dying everyday unnoticed.

Vote with your feet!

More than likely the security employees are involved with the theft...go directly to the CID or police..

A few weeks back, my son's mobile phone was stolen from his locker (secured with a company-provided combination lock) in the changing room of his workplace at one of the leading hotels on Jumeirah Beach. Clearly, either this was burglary by a fellow employee, a member of the security team or by an outside perpetrator. If the latter was the case, security were clearly not doing their job.

It is amazing to see how hard management have been working on trying to dissuade my son from reporting the incident to the police..... and forget any insurance coverage by the Company.

A theft of a motor bike during, wrong as is it, does not = unsafe.

Dubai has a hell of a lot less crime than London, Sydney, New York, and in fact a just about any other city in the Western world.
Just trying to keep a bit of perspective on things.

Woof

Here at our boating establishment GPS's even engines were going missing...turned out to be the "security" personnel...in AUH the "security" were stealing from my cycle saddlebags, and even facililitating break-ins to colleagues flats...and these were personnel of "established" well know firms...the last time I got anything stolen in BAH was my helmet...by an "asian" member of the security police...caught him red-handed with it....guess this probably happens in just about any place world wide, just not used to it happening over here...yes it's safe here..(except for the roadways)

Looks like an inside job. Perhaps time for secret cameras by some of the residents, to look at the activities of the Security Employees.
DXB is MUCH safer than many countries in the world, yes crime does happen, and there is a LOT of denial when it does. But ya only have to look at some of the places we fly to and layover in. NYC for example, i love the place, but you certainly watch your back in downtown Brooklyn.
