GF Bank Loans
Heard a rumor that banks in BAH are denying any loans to GF employees now. Any truth to that? So much for car loans etc if that's the case...

Yup - Standard Chartered certainly is- was chatting to someone there a week or so back and they mentioned that all new loans to GF employees have been stopped UFN............ Messrs Dose/Naff - I'm sure you peruse this particular forum from time to time. How are you going to solve this little gem?? Anyone who is employed to plug the gaps shortly to start showing in the (pilot) workforce will not be able to get a car loan, or any other loan for that matter with SCB. Not sure about the other institutions, bankers generally follow suit to protect themselves first???
Replacements????? Yes - word from crewing is that the schedule will require at least what we have now(in terms of aviators).

I am wondering whether the stopping the loans is a sign of a lack of faith in Gulf Air employees?
Heard someone telling me that she's overheard a few cabin crew members (nationality withheld to avoid painting them all with the same brush) musing about applying for a loan and then "disappearing," either back to their home country or to Etihad. Besides being shamefully dishonest, also criminal as far as I know.
Just wonder if anybody has tried this stunt yet.

A few of them did it while stationed in AUH, then jumped ship home, but the banks didnt stop loans for everybody...with all these conflicting stories of redundancies no wonder the banks are concerned...

That's a criminal offence anywhere in the world , non payment of a loan and you'd likely end up dealing with Interpol anytime you crossed a border. Not such a smart move.
Hardly a reason for banks to deny loans to a legit GF employee.

It's all ok freinds. We don't need loans. Just read the memos from Mr Naf & keep in mind that WE CAN DO IT! nevermind that the kids are starving, the wife is moaning & your having to eat 2 minute noodles in you room down route & that you still got to drive around in your 20 year old piece of s*** car.
