hey H.P.
yea just had a look at the page. Man it's breathtaking, unbelievable. I just hope the safety precautions are met. I mean what if one of the planes crashes? That reminds me on RED HILL 1995 I believe, where one of the antique Yankee bomber crashed into parked planes. The guys couldn't get out of the deep dive. Does anyone know is that bar still there with the nice creepy mama and the fighter seat one can be strapped in in case of too much beer?
http://www.redbullairrace.com/ Anyway I'm dying to see it. I'm sure that's gonna be hell of the show.
Cheers.

Ironbutt...
Yeah, its got me stumped too....
Thinking OMAA or AUH or even maybe....ummmmm ooh ooh I know!
Abu Dhabi
The first year it was here was an absolutely sensational day, 100,000+ people they reckon. Weather was fantastic and flying awesome.
popay the lads and ladettes are out there are there because they are the best at what they do, not to say there isn't a possibliity of a mishap but try not to enter the ranks of the drama queens and enjoy it for what it is. When you are talking safety precautions you are better of mentioning the word 'liability' and 'insurance' as they are the real determining factors of how the show will go on.
Enjoy

Fox3snapshot, thanks man. I had it wrong cause probably haven't diverted to AUH yet. Anyway I'm sure it'll be fantastic. I believe it'll be broadcasted on one of the MBC too, isn't it?

Might be worth knowing that there were five practice days last year, qualifying on Thursday, finals Friday. Last years final was cancelled due high winds so the final was held on the Saturday. I thought it was fantastic and sat at the Hilton Beach Club every day in awe and admiration. It makes a brilliant DVD.

Apparently there's a show in Jeddah tomorrow. Apparently one of the pilots is a Saudi called Shehab Alireza, who works for Aramco aviation.
The show will be held on the old corniche from 4-6pm.
Andalus street will be closed during the runs.

1330. No you don't need tickets unless you want the grand stand. Free from everywhere. One pylon platform is quite close to the Corniche but you can see the whole thing from anywhere. You need to get in place early though. last year they 'raced' one of their F1 cars against an Extra along the Corniche. They built the car outside the Hiltonnia.

An excellent day out. Well organised, great weather and some amazing flying.
I'm happy i went, and even happier that i left before the traffic snarled up.
Well done to the organisers.
