Latest Hot Poop on Emirates Interviews & Hiring

Hello everyone!

I just made a quick search of all forums and the latest info on EK recruiting / interviews/ etc. seems to be from back in 2003.

Anyone out there with some up-to-date news, or point me in the right direction for the latest posts?

Thanks.

There you go, you have the latest news. NO ONE HAS BOTHERED TO JOIN FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS. WHY has nobody posted? > would be a more interesting question, again probably because no one wants to come anymore (maybe!).

CW - you fly for EK?

If so, what info do you have?

JavaPilot,

Expect a 3 days selection.
1st day: After a welcome briefing, pilots from the selection team will check your passport, licence, logbooks and update of your application form. Then you will be splitted in 2 groups of 4 or 5 people. You will be submitted a technical exam, multiple choice 30 questions in 30 minutes. After that it's lunch break. In the afternoon, you will go through the simulator assessment. Depending on your group it will be either A310 or B777. First a visual circuit raw data hand flown rwy 12L in DXB, then a loft leg with F/D and A/T but no autopilot. T/O in DXB, engine failure and then return to DXB for an ILS, after of course having completed all the checklists and informed everybody involved (atc, cabin, operations,etc..) At the minimum no contact, so Go-Around and then they freeze the sim. That is for the F/O, for the DEC it is much more demanding. The same evening you will be informed by telephone if you may come back the next day or if you failed this first stage.

2nd day: Early morning, group exercises with the one remaining in your group. Then Human Resource briefing and after they take you on a tour to visit a sample appartment and a villa. Then very nice lunch in a seafront hotel and that's it for the second day.

3rd day: Early morning again, psychometric tests, then a debrief of your personality with the company psy (amazing how they can read you like an open book!). Then it is again an interview with 1 person from HR and 1 pilot. In the afternoon, you will undergo the company medical. And then wait for the reply, what I am doing right now!!

Best of luck.

When did you interview. How long are you expecting to wait? Do they give you any idea how long it will be?
