Question EK Interview?

I have an EK interview coming up in April. I'm exicited but very cautioues as I read some of these posts. I can certainly agree with fatiuge issues and pay, that's concerning. But it still seems better than where I am now, the wife has no problem moving over. Some questions are;

1 How much is the pay for first year F/O and the per diems? US dollars appor.

2 What medical benefits would my family get? Are the hospitals okay if we had a child? Should the wife come back for a few months?

3 What is the contract for staying at EK? Are they going to come after you if you high tail it out of there if you don't like it? What could they do?

I thought the pay was good from what I was told but not sure what. Don't mind working hard and putting my time in. I guess it's best to go see for my self and make that judgement call. They might turn me down 5300 hours and 3500 approx. jet

Thanks for any in sight.

The salary is posted on their web site. Convert to your currency. From your salary they take around 140 for family medical, 900 for provident fund, 100 for EPC (pilots club) and 1100 for your car loan (all number approx in AED)

The per diem: LOUSY! period. They take the price of meals in the hotel and subtract their discount (30-40%) That's your per diem. You loose money on this

The clinic is excellent. Hospitals -don't know, but the clinic is the best dept in the company.

If you should decide to leave early. It will be a mess. You will have to pay back what you owe on you training bond (US$ 36000 in 36 months) If you take empty accomodation, you will have to pay back the rest of it (42 months) You will have to pay back the rest of your car loan (50000 AED in 36 months)

When you go for your interview - bring your wife! Stay a few extra days to look around, and talk to people from your country.

Hospitals are very good, the traffic getting to them is a joke. A new German Hospital going in Barsha,which will be nice and the Medical City is coming along.
Per Diem is not as bad as some make out but could be better
Rosters ay the moment suck it could be 2years before that get sorted out.
WRT leave if youre lucky you will only get leave ever other summer and thet has been reduced to a max of 21 days vice 28
