IRAN AIR - How long will they be able to operate?

I recently read, that Iran Air had to store 2x A300-600 and a B747 due tolack of spare parts.

I wonder, how long they will be able to operate safely and operate at all! Same with Mahan and the others.

I am afraid, that we will see a crash every week soon.

I talk only about civilian operations and feel, that especially in aviation embargos lead only to unsafe transportation for the civil people...

Oh well...... then they (the public) should do something about their psychopath of a leader.

Or maybe they would much prefer having some nukes they can lob westward...

After the news today I doubt they will be getting spare parts any time soon.

Plenty of other company's that will supply spares and aircraft, a few other Iranian Airlines are doing quite well with European products, and the Russian industry is still doing very well out here...in fact very very well!

Re: IRAN AIR - How long will they be able to operate?

Don't tell me they've run out of spares for the 747s given the numbers they have parked up in Tehran?! As far as sanctions go, where there are sanctions there will always be sanction busters, and the French would be far less inclined than the Americans, so I'm sure they can get spares for the Buses if they want/can afford them, and as you say a lot of the market is covered by the Russians, or with wet-leases. The aviation business there is incredibly active. As far as maintenance is required, it ain't exactly Africa and generally they do their best, but it's not up to EASA standards either.

Desert whine,
Before you open your cake hole blabbering on and accusing educated and well versed nations, governments and their democratically elected leaders (by over whelming majority)(unlike the US elections), I suggest you read a book by ALAN HART called ZIONISM THE REAL ENEMY OF THE JEWS.
It might be, too much for p.brains, but I think it will give you some insight into the corrupt and unjust governments that you call democracy; I also recommend that people like you who call us narrow minded, try to research and decipher world events and politics beyond your totally controlled and cant media.
Leave the vineyard; try coffee plantation.

Re: IRAN AIR - How long will they be able to operate?

Yeah Tristar, it's so true that Iran is a progressive country with nobody afraid to speak out and total freedom of the press. They don't publicly hang people from cranes, murder journalists, torture anyone who they don't like, and they have the best safety record in aviation. Their airports are among the most modern in the world. The president is a well balanced chap who would never threaten any other nation and was elected by a landslide of votes from people who were not afraid of doing otherwise!! Next week we can do the three bears if you like!!!

Hahahahahaha, coming from Bahrain with a statement like that. Try and yank the other foot out of your mouth before you make the next comeback.

Captain cumulonimbus
Thank you for your support; I am in no doubt that there are millions of westerners like your self; with high level of intelligence and broad mindedness many of which are very good friends of mine
hotelGym
I recommend the same to you! Go read that book and don’t blindly believe anything media feeds you. Especially if you think all these millions of voters, did so at gun point.
I feel sorry for you if that is your mentality and level of naïveté (amazing; in your profile you mention that you are a captain????!!!!).
Ratpoison
I never defended Bahrain or any other media. But at least we are aware that we are kept like mushrooms (kept in the dark and fed s%$t). I can say more to you but I shall restrain myself from going down to your level.

Re: IRAN AIR - How long will they be able to operate?

It's easy for you as a persian to sit in Bahrain and say how wonderful it is in Iran, that's cause you aint there living the life. Why not go and live there if it's such a wonderful place? If you are so confident in Iran Air surely they will give you a job. Don't dare to presume everyone who has never read this book you talk about is ignorant. Remember the book is included in the media you so casually put down. Not everthing you read is true, so I prefer to take my info from a variety of sources and make my own mind up. Having done that with regard to Iran I think I can safely say it is a rogue state and in danger of destabilising the whole of the ME. All this because of a loose cannon president and a regime that get it's power from intimidation and murder.

HotelGym,
Now, does that come as a surprise that a person from that part of the world would be asking you to read a certain book defaming a certain nation on the Mediterranean. ???

Re: IRAN AIR - How long will they be able to operate?

Yeah nice one, let's always blame the jews. Really, mate, get over it. It's like a broken record and makes one sound like an utter tw@t.
educated and well versed nations
HAHAHAHAAA....!! I love it. I can't believe you said that with a straight face!

But come on guys, they don't do the crane thing all the time. I just read about how they put some guy in a sack, threw him off a cliff and if he survived, he was going to be killed by everyone standing around throwing big rocks at him.

How wonderfully bl00dy civilised some people are!!! It will be so refreshingly peaceful if these children somehow get their paws on a nuke.

By the way, Capt C/Nimbus is taking the piss outa you, Tristar. You just didn't realise it.

Re: IRAN AIR - How long will they be able to operate?

The people are probably okay, it is the leadership that is the problem. Bit like a lot of airlines.....

Well, I must say they make bloody good rugs. Pity the clown running the joint isn't as talented as the common folk. Then again, one just has to see his picture in the paper and realise his father obviously stayed out too late with the local goat.

Re: IRAN AIR - How long will they be able to operate?

Come on, Ratpoison. You know that freak in charge up in Iran comes from a well-to-do family. Don't blme the goat, it would've been a camel, no less.

As for the people, yes they too are victims of their leadership.

They are the kindest souls imaginable as evidenced at the regular stonings and public hangings. Greatly-educated, polite and civilised? Indubitably......
