Gulf Air suffers Dubai awards snub

Gulf Air suffers Dubai awards snub
Gulf Air was barred from collecting a top regional award at a glittering ceremony in Dubai, it was revealed yesterday.
T he snub came as the airline was named Travel and Tourism Company of the Year in the annual Arabian Business Awards.
Gulf Air president and chief executive James Hogan was originally invited along with nine other officials to collect the award, at a ceremony held at the Jumeirah Conference Centre, Dubai.
But the invitation was withdrawn 24 hours after it was sent out, a Gulf Air source confirmed yesterday.

Oh oh be gosh!! why , tell us why , inquiring minds want to know.. I am serious, I have no idea why and will like to know more.

P.s. What is the current situation at Gulf Air?, What is the new agenda ( after Abu-Dhabi pullout) and what is the plan going forward. Any talk of expansion or new fleet on the horizon...

One reason would be the venue...whose back yard is the party being hosted in...
As far as your other questions...I defer to those employed by GF in AUH...but it would seem that the tough decisions that need to be made regarding when and how crews are going back to BAH, are still in the early decision making phase..sorry I can't help you there.
Cheers

Post but were able to collect.......

GULF Air bagged two prestigious awards at the 12th Annual World Travel Awards, held at a gala ceremony at the Royal Opera House, London.

The airline was voted the Middle East's Leading First Class Airline and the World's Leading Airport Lounge for its Bahrain First and Business Class lounge.

The ceremony was attended by Gulf Air marketing and sales vice-president Danny Barranger, Europe, Africa and America regional manager Rohan Alce, corporate affairs head Reem Antoon and UK key account executive Jo Copestake.

"This is a very proud moment for us," said Gulf Air president and chief executive officer James Hogan.

"The entire team at Gulf Air has worked relentlessly to provide the best service in the sky and on the ground.

"We have invested heavily in our refurbished planes, which has led to the creation of one of the best first class products in the skies, and, with this award, it's now officially the best in the Middle East," said Mr Hogan.
