TOP Secret South African EK pilot deal - BANG!

Just heard from a VERY reliable source that the deal in South Africa has gone baddly pear shaped!
Sorry to hear, was quite hoping all the resignations would make EK wake up and smell the roses!
But allas! They land with their bums in the butter!

I doubt that it has gone sour. As far as I know eight blokes have already left or are on the way. Either way it would be only right to wish them all the very best.

Cheers

The boyz can't talk cause if they do.......they won't get a job with the secret new operation that isn't gonna happen anyway...

Gotta love it, I bet it started with "Don't tell anyone mate, there is a new SA operation about to kick off and its a no Sh*t invite only. Tell anyone about it and you will be immediately black banned and sent a lifetime supply of Tuppaware accessories free of charge!"

Ho Hum...I luv this industry......

Chief-pilot-to-be is an ex EK Captain and he's taking with him a bunch of S. African Captains
Does he want to take a bunch of good Ops guys with him too? The ones at EK are all on the look-out for pastures new......

If it is true then all the guys selected are a good bunch, some of EK's best from what I have heard. A sad loss for EK and good luck to the guys.

Aren't all the good guys leaving? Or at least have their CVs printed and posted?

The resignation letters are printed, just need the date and signature to be added!
It's gonna be sooooooo funny! Sad, but funny!

By the way, wasn't there supposed to be some MAJOR announcement regarding T & C's made today?

NO! All the good guys aren't leaving. Sadly some are, but there are some who are waiting for better things with EK. You don't know their long term agenda and can only see short term. But there are plans for years ahead, don't worry.

Some airbus guys have been invited to show their interest in joining the boeing fleet. Good news for them and the FOs waiting for an upgrade.

Maybe not ALL the good guys, but certainly those with some integrity left.

Is that all they can offer? Transition to the Boeing....

Mensaboy, I think A330guy is refering to the plan of "keep everybody happy with intentional lies." Do not take my word for it, ask the trainers on the airbus about their recent training meeting. They were told that the 114 upgrades for next year is not correct. In fact it was never approved. The real plan is for 70 guys including those who are doing it at present. Do you think they have updated us on the issue? Do you think they will tell the Airbus fo's about it now? I forgot we are only a good news airline. In the meantime we will be flying 100 hours a month because we do not have enough captains on the fleet, and next year the airbus fos will start leaving when they finaly realize that the numbers do not add up. The rumours about an imminent pay increase are generated by management to keep idiots like us hoping for a change in the very near future, thus prolonging as much as possible the present outflow of people. They are so short that even a month longer of service is something. The guy who resigned recently to go back to Europe offered them to pay them to get out of his last moth of the three months notice, and they told heim NO, we are so short... we do not need your money, we need you here.
Keep hoping though, it is better than discovering

Now why would EK lie to us, the working pilots of a premier airline? Everyone knows that mangement is always above board with us and always tries to help us out like we help them out.
The long terms goals are in place and secure. Don't anyone worry! A330 guy(man, boy) will just have to wait an undeterminant amount of time to find out just what those goals are. Besides of course to lie to the pilots and make as much money as possible on the backs of the employees. What lofty goals.
