GF and Turbine time

I know guys that have recently gotten into GF without Jet time. Actually one guy had been flying ancient turbines. So in Answer on where to go after Turbine, I'd say go and have a go at Gulf.

So Much for case closed.

Apologies - I thought they currently required jet time. Great opportunity that illustrates the current state of the industry.

If I recall correctly, you needed 2500 hours total, of which 500 hours should be heavy Turbine. An ATR42 classifies as heavy turbine. Also you will nead an ATPL or Frozen ATPL. I heard a couple of months ago that they lowered the weight limit on the aircraft that qualify so you might even get in with some Dash8-100 time, but not sure if a 1900 or somethig similar qualifies.

Check their web page. Often the oppertunities only pop up for a week or so. I know they are looking for pilots, if you got some multi crew turbine time and 2500 hours and an ATPL why not send in an application even if you don't meet their weight requirments, you might get lucky. Can't hurt can it.

Good luck
