EK fuel surcharge

Why is Emirates hiking its fuel surcharge by £12 on a return ticket and European carriers (BA+Virgin) only raising theirs by £6??

Well thats EK for you, like those Rumours (sorry lads true statements), KEEP DISCOVERING. Also why had they previously levied a security surcharge on their own staff when using staff travel. KEEP DISCOVERING!!
