Layover at QR
HI everyone
I just want to put a small question for all of you at QR.
Which are the layovers at QR on the A300/600 fleet? (At least the most regular).
I hope to hear from you gals and guys of QR.

By the way, whats the average nights away home do you guys have on the A300-600 fleet and, if possible off course, how many hours do you fly a month?

A300 Man: The good old layovers have gone though it seems...
Do they still do the 8 day BKK? The one week MNLs were excellent and I still do not understand why the crew moaned so much about 24 hours in TRV!!?
Still I guess anything is an improvement on the days when the Cabin Crew had to share rooms!!!!
Do they still breathalise the deadheading crew?
Oh yes, it's all fun and games at QR!

All that kind of information is much apreciated. I'm trying to find out whats the big differences to my present company concerning that kind of operational issues.
Please say all you can about this.
Are the per diems ok at QR and how is it calculated?

you have asked a question that is changing by the month here at QR with the A-330 fleet growing and the A-300 fleet due to shrink in a few years with the coming of the 777. Also the average hours per month is a joke when it comes to all the different fleets with A-330 guy/gals doing 85-90 hours sometimes close to 100. The A-300 fleet doing anywhere from 45 to 75 hours a month and the A-320 guys hovering around 60 hours max a month with massive time away from home.
There is no longer that Singapore, Cebu flight as we now do that trip on the A-330 fleet.
The average amount of nights away from home can vary if you are a training captain or not. As a training captain you will be in Doha many nights but as a line pilot you will have as A300 MAN said, 12 days or so out of Doha but you will have to remember that you start many flights late at night and I am not sure that will count as a "night at home" as you have asked.

I would think that trying to base your decision on the route structure of a fleet is not a good idea as it will chop and change in a few weeks,months and for sure years.

First I was to compare with my actual job. I spent around 10 to 18 nights away and in some months to do 40 hours! Not to mention the low pay and roaster that is to bad to comment.
Now and despite all that as been said in the foruns, I'm considering to apply to a job with QR.
What will happen to the A300-600 crews with the phase out? Will move to the 777 fleet or other Airbus fleet? For how long do you think they will be recruiting rated guys on the A300-600?
Do you think there still is a great demand for flight crews at QR?
