What's going on? First the leaders sack 18 TRIs now they advertise for TRIs again. Who's running the show here?

It might be a good idea to hire TRI's from outside, a DETRI. That way we keep the experienced line Captains where we need them, on the line in daily operations...
Also, getting new blood in training might give us some good new SOP's, why not switch the seatbelts on at 30.000ft or get an extra check in for green dot vs. ZFW just before T/O, just to be sure...
We could maybe go a bit further, like demoting a few Captains to F/O and take more DEC's, that way we will have even more experienced F/O's.. Why not change a typical carreer within the airline by only hiring DETRE's and demoting everyone after some time to fill all the seats? Could safe us so many Dirhams on upgrade trainings.

And in a remarkable coincidence many of us other colourful parrots are likewise "pinin' for the fjords"....

Why be a trainer in the first place.

Crap rosters, no control on lifestyle, having to fly with new cadet pilots all for a pittence.

You can earn far more with a bit of overtime on the line and not have to open a book for at least six months at a time.

I can't see why the sacking 18 TRIs will cause a problem because unless a substanstial payrise for ALL employees is announced at the Annual Report on the 27th there will be no pilots to train fly the aircraft, no cabin crew to feed the SLF, no ground staff to load the cargo, no engineers to fix the faults - "Quid pro quo"

Red face

I've heard that most of the TRI's were invited back, along with line trainers. Most told 'em to shove it, hence the memo. Well what a huge surprise

Amazing thing is in most outfits its the job that most, if not all want because the pay in pensionable. Oh yeah, we don't have a pension.....

Cool

Sheiky,mate.

Not true,11 sacked,10 asked back,1 declined,1 of the 10 transferred to 310,after the sacking.

More TRIs will be needed, but which TRE/TRIs will go to 380,in what order and when??Experience will be needed on 330/340,which is where I suspect the "new" TRIs will end up,for a long time.

Once those facts become apparent a better picture will be seen.

Question remains, will the rosters/lifestyle be better than the last regime, and better than flying as a Line pilot?

Off to pub with EPC card,to discuss the pay rise.QB
