I saw it parked at a remote stand at DXB yesterday awaiting passengers being coached out to the aircraft. So, would still appear to be around for the time being.

Why didnt they paint it in the newer design since they have kept it for so long? would have cost less than they spend on many other things, not so image concious are they now.

An image of the A310F in the newer design, http://webzoom.freewebs.com/jetabout.../EMR313geF.gif

A 310 qualified FA told me the pax plane will be around for a while.
Alexandria has been ear-marked for it.

Didn't think much of it until l spotted Alexandria in the "Destinations" Jepp binder.

I agree that it is looking a bit tired now but as far as I'm aware plans to get rid of it have been shelved and at the moment it is still flying around the subcontinent (mostly). Who knows, once the frieghters arrive we might even end up getting some more!

I used to fly often on it to Muscat and Bahrain. I thought it's primary retention was because of the short runway at PEW?

However, QR now flies A332's to PEW, so EK could do the same.

Neither Kabul nor Alex appear in the new timetable published 27 March '05-29 October '05. A332's have been used by EK to Peshawar for quite some time now.

Auckland was also started midway last year, why arent EK interested in Kabul? since Ariana have downgraded Dubai to a 727, the A310 would be a winner on the route.

Hi Newscaster

I see the Ariana flight landing in Dubai very frequently, most recently yesterday evening around 18:30hrs I think. It was A300B4 last night, and appears to be most days. Haven't seen a 727 on the route for quite a while.

Saw the EK A310 parked at the Dubai terminal today, wearing the "new" colours. (or at least the same enlarged titles and wavy flag that the rest of the fleet is wearing)
