This is traditionally the rainy time of the year in UAE/Oman for the coastal regions. The interior get the bulk of their rain in the summer months.

Having been here 8 years now I must admit this season has been a lot more unsettled and whilst I wouldn't like to try and guess where we are at with rainfall, possibly up on averages there to. The lowest temp was recorded this winter and snow in Ras Al Khaimah which is also a first!

Another low pressure system has arrived from the Mediterranean to the west and as I type it is overcast and cold with rain forecast again. Apparently it has been well above average rainfull in quite a few regions of Saudi.
