MUSCAT SEEB - TRANSJET 747's
Was in Muscat a few weeks back and noticed two Transjet 742's on the apron. Anyone know why they are there and who currently operates them? They both appeared to be still in the full livery of the defunct carrier.

It has been close to 6 months I reckon! Maybe they will end up at the fireground as it will probably end up more expensive trying to get them airworthy again, better to let the Civil Aviation Authority take back their tarmac fee's by throwing them onto the back of a Baisa bus and running them across the road to the fire training ground and letting rip with a few tins of kero!

Gotta be longer than that Foxy....
I say take em out near Fahal Island and dump them into about 30 metres of water....great dive sites and it will free up some much needed parking space at Seeb

Not TJ anymore, but registered to a Nigerian? company? Rumor has it one AC landed Seeb with tech problems, the other flew in spares, but company went bust before anything got done.
There has been some activity lately, one AC was cleaned a couple of days ago. Hadj season?
They have been sitting here for almost a year now. No maintenance as far as I know. No covers on the engines or any other parts. I can only imagine the amount of dust and sand inside the engines and pitot system...
Some Scando told me they were parked (outside) in Stockholm for almost 2 years before ending up here?
Pity those who have to fly them, and those who have to fly in them.
